News India Live, Digital Desk: Ceasefire is the only solution: India has expressed deep concern over the constantly deteriorating human situation in the Gaza Strip and called for a permanent ceasefire immediately and an unconditional ceasefire. During an open debate on the matter in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), India clearly stated that the short-term breaks found in the struggle are no longer enough, as they will not get any long-term solutions.
India’s permanent representative R.K. Rabindra spoke at the United Nations and said that it is very important to find a permanent way for peace and stability between Israel and Palestine. He insisted on implementing the UNSC proposal 2728, especially on the immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan and then a permanent ceasefire.
India highlighted the terrible effects of civilian population, especially women and children in Gaza, and emphasized the immediate need to provide safe, uninterrupted and comprehensive humanitarian aid in war -affected areas. India also reiterated the importance of ensuring the safety of humanitarian aid workers.
India maintains its old position that the only reliable solution to the Israeli-Pilistine issue is the ‘two-state solution’. Under this, a sovereign and independent Palestinian kingdom should be established, which was peacefully co-existed with Israel. This peace is possible only when there is a direct and meaningful conversation between Israel and Palestine. Additionally, India clearly condemned the terrorist attacks on Israel on 7 October and also reiterated its demand to release all the hostages immediately and unconditionally. India has been in favor of making every effort to establish peace and security in the region.
