Bangladesh has called for rethinking famous filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s decision to demolish the ancestral property in Maman Singh. India has also offered assistance to conserve this prestigious building.

Describing the move to demolish this historic building in Maman Singh, India requested Bangladesh to convert this building, which symbolizes the shared culture of both countries and assured cooperation in this regard.

This prestigious and historic building was of Satyajit Ray’s grandfather and famous writer Upendra Kishore Ray Chaudhary. This property, which is currently owned by the Government of Bangladesh, is in a dilapidated state. The Ministry of External Affairs has reacted to the reports that Bangladeshi officials will demolish the building.
