This year’s Navratri has proved to be very important for the Indian economy. During this festival, markets across the country were packed with buyers and broke the sales records for the last 10 years. The biggest reason for this was the huge cut by the government in GST rates, which reduced the prices of everything from cars to toothbrushes. This cut and festive season mail encouraged consumers to openly purchase.

GST cuts on 375 items reduced the prices of daily items, home appliances, cement and automobiles. This encouraged families to upgrade their vehicles, buy new electronic equipment and increase spending on lifestyle products. According to economists, there were two main reasons for this record -breaking sales: long -buried consumer demand and decrease in GST rates.

Increase sales from 25% to 100%
According to a report by the Times of India, government officials said that the cut in GST slab increased the confidence of consumers and increased purchases. As a result, sales of brands and retailers saw a strong growth ranging from 25% to 100%.

Bumper demand in auto sector

The company expects delivery of 2 lakh cars by the end of the festival, compared to only 85,000 – 2.3 times the number last year. The sale of Mahindra & Mahindra’s XUV700 and Scorpio N increased by 60%, while Hyundai Creta and Venue also demanded a good demand.

Electronics’ sales also increased tremendously,
Sales of goods like refrigerator, TV, washing machines and smartphones also increased. Major retailers reported that this time customers preferred premium brands more and the average bill price also increased significantly.
