News India Live, Digital Desk: When the protector becomes the eater, then whom should a person trust? Something similar happened with a bank manager from Prayagraj, who was made a victim of his fraud by the operator of a hospital. On the pretext of getting a job and settlement abroad, the hospital operator extorted Rs 15 lakh from the bank manager and when the turn came to ask for the money back, he started threatening to kill him.
This shocking case is from Dhumanganj police station area of Prayagraj, where a manager working in Indian Overseas Bank has filed a case of fraud against Dr. Anil Patel, the director of Ayushman Hospital.
How was this web of fraud woven?
Bank manager Arvind Kumar Maurya had met Dr. Anil Patel, director of Ayushman Hospital, some time ago. Dr. Patel talked big about his high reach and good contacts abroad. He assured the manager that he could get him a good job in Canada and would also help him get settled there.
The bank manager got trapped in the doctor’s soft talks. He spent his entire life’s savings to fulfill his dream of going to Canada. He gave a total of Rs 15 lakh to Dr. Anil Patel in different installments.
When the dream broke and the threats started
After taking the money, Dr. Patel started procrastinating. Neither any visa came nor there was any trace of job. When months passed and the bank manager realized that he had been cheated, he asked Dr. Patel for his money back.
As soon as he asked for the money back, Dr. Patel’s real face was revealed. He flatly refused to give the money and started threatening the bank manager. He said that if he asked for money again, he would kill him.
Police started investigation
Fearing threats and seeing his hard-earned money sinking, the bank manager gathered courage and approached the police. He has filed a case against Dr. Anil Patel and some of his associates in Dhumanganj police station for fraud, embezzlement and threatening to kill. Police have registered the case and started investigation and the accused doctor is being searched.
This incident is a lesson for all those people who trust anyone without thinking due to the greed of going abroad. Always use correct and legal methods, otherwise your lifetime earnings can be lost in one fell swoop.
