In the day, from 6 am to 10 pm, the passenger sitting on the side upper berth can sit on the side lower berth. It is not allowed to sit like this from 10 am to 6 am, as it is a sleeping time and all the passengers sleep on their own berths.

During the day, if there is no RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) passenger on the side lower berth, then the passenger with side upper berth can sit on the side lower berth. The passenger sitting on the lower berth will also have to allow a passenger with side upper berth to sit on his berth.

At night, all passengers are allowed to sleep on their berths. Therefore, the passenger sitting on the side upper berth cannot sit on the side lower berth at night.

During the day, if a passenger does not allow the passenger sitting on the berth to sit on the berth, then you can file a complaint with the train ticket inspector (TTE) or the railway police.
