Post

News India Live, Digital Desk: Democracy in Kashmir: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP and fast-paced leader Sanjay Singh has made a sensational claim, which has created a new controversy in national politics, especially about Jammu and Kashmir. Sanjay Singh alleges that he has been put under house arrest in Srinagar. He claimed that from the hotel where he is staying, he is neither allowed to go out nor is anyone allowed to meet him.

Why did Sanjay Singh Kashmir go?

Sanjay Singh is on a tour of Jammu and Kashmir. His visit was primarily to meet those Kashmiri Pandits and other communities who are protesting against the recent target killing (targeted murders). Sanjay Singh said that he had reached there to share the pain of these victims and raise their voice in Parliament.

What are Sanjay Singh’s allegations?

Sanjay Singh issued a video message on social media and claimed his detention. He said:

“I am currently in Srinagar. Yesterday when I met Kashmiri Pandits and apple farmers here, I have been put under house arrest in my hotel. Police have been put on my door and said that I cannot get out. No one is allowed to meet me.”

He directly targeted the Modi government at the Center and said that ‘dictatorship’ is going on in Kashmir. He raised the question that when the Prime Minister and the Home Minister claims to be ‘recovering everything’ in Kashmir, then why is an MP from meeting the victim families? He said that this is the murder of democracy and he is not afraid of such ‘imprisonment’.

What did the administration say?

However, no official response has been revealed by the Jammu and Kashmir administration or police on these allegations of Sanjay Singh. However, this incident has once again waged a political debate about the situation in Kashmir. The opposition alleges that the government is trying to show everything normal in Kashmir, but the ground reality is something else, and whoever tries to show this reality, his voice is suppressed.

This matter is now getting caught and it has raised a serious question about the freedom of political activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
