A major accident occurred on Friday in Humayun’s Tomb Complex located in Nizamuddin area of Delhi. 6 people (three women, three men) were killed and several others were injured when the roof of a room near the mosque fell. About 14-15 people were present in the room at the time of the accident. The incident occurred around 4:30 pm.
How did the accident happen?
The falling part was not the main tomb, but a rest room adjacent to the wall, near the Dargah of the Patte Shah.
Delhi is receiving continuous rains, which increases the possibility of such an accident in old buildings.

Relief work
DFS (Delhi Fire Services) and the police team reached the spot and immediately started the rescue operation.
NDRF team also arrived – trying to evacuate the trapped people.
Initially 8-9 people were feared to be stranded, later the figure rose to 14–15.
Officials are constantly present at the scene and are monitoring the situation.
