There were massive demonstrations at Hazratganj and Atal intersection in Lucknow on Saturday and Sunday (8 March 2026) in protest against this controversial statement given by Abdullah Salim, a Maulana from Bihar. The protesters burnt the effigy of the accused and demanded his immediate arrest.

Police action: Case registered on the complaint of BJP district president

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Bharatiya Janata Party District President Ravi Kumar Mishra gave a written complaint to the Lucknow Police.
