Cyclonic storm Fengal is turning into a cyclonic storm after Thursday midnight. Due to this, heavy to moderate rain is expected in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu for the next 2 to 3 days.
The biggest alert of heavy rain is on November 29 in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Puducherry. Here IMD has issued a red alert. Apart from this, there is a yellow alert for rain in South Interior Karnataka.
Dense fog is likely to persist in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Bihar till November 30 and in Uttar Pradesh till the morning of December 2. Yellow alert has also been issued at all these places today. There will be fog in different areas of North India.
In view of Cyclone Fengal update, the Indian Coast Guard has rescued six fishermen from a village in Cuddalore district following a request from the state government. The fishermen had gone out to sea on boats and their ships sank due to bad weather (warning of heavy rain). Education Minister A Namasivayam said all government schools, private schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal will remain closed on November 29 and 30.
