Two people are suspected of being infected with this dangerous virus, after which an alert has been issued in three districts of the state. The concern of the health department has increased due to these suspicious cases and they are taking full care.
According to the information, two people have seen symptoms like Nipa virus. These include a small child and an adult. They have seen symptoms such as fever, vomiting and headache, which may be an early signs of Nipa. Their samples have been sent to the National Virology Lab in Pune for immediate investigation to find out if they are really infected with Nipa.
Special precautions in these districts:
As a precaution, the Health Department of Kerala has given three districts – Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kozhikode High alert has been issued in. Special monitoring is being done at these places and people have been appealed to take precautions.
Government’s preparation and health minister’s statement:
State Health Minister Veena George has said that Nipa has not been confirmed yet, but the government is fully ready to deal with any situation. He said that 15 people who came in contact with suspected patients are being identified and monitoring them. Along with this, a quick response team has also been formed to deal with it, which will take immediate action.
