News India Live, Digital Desk: Development Amidst Challenges: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren met the Union Home Minister and made an important request. He has demanded a special central aid package for the state of Jharkhand for an amount of more than Rs 13,000 crore. In this meeting, Soren put the current challenges and needs of his state prominently in front of the Home Minister, especially despite the huge revenue received by the central government on the mineral wealth of the state, highlighted the problems faced by Jharkhand.

Soren said that the central government gets a large amount of revenue from the country’s largest mines, yet despite being rich in mineral resources, the expected development of Jharkhand has not been done. According to him, Naxalism has also been a major reason for this, due to which the state has faced major financial and social challenges. Both the security and development of the state have been affected by this Naxal problem. The Chief Minister also urged the Home Minister that by identifying the areas where the Naxalite problem was effective, the Central Government should give priority to them and take special measures for development.

The demand for this package is not only to accelerate the development pace of the state, but also to strengthen internal security, bring social and economic development to Naxal -affected areas and improve infrastructure. He emphasized that only with the central help, the correct picture of the state of Jharkhand can change and the standard of living of the people here can be improved. He also informed that Jharkhand is playing an active role in implementing several major schemes of the central government, and in such a situation the Center should be sensitive to the requirements of the state.

This special central assistance package of Rs 13,000 crore is likely to include funds for various development projects, construction of infrastructure, social welfare schemes, and security measures. This demand of the Chief Minister is an important diplomatic step, which shows his dependence and center-state relations on the Center for the development of states in the federal structure. Now it has to be seen what steps the Union Home Ministry takes on this demand and how much support Jharkhand gets.
