Heavy rains alert in UP and Delhi-NCR, IMD alerted these districts

The Indian Meteorological Department IMD has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in several northern states including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR. In the alert released for the week starting from 23 July 2025, the department has advised to be vigilant especially about 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These include Varanasi, Bulandshahr, Deoria, Etah, Etawah, Faizabad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Mughalsarai, and Moradabad. There is a possibility of heavy rains in these areas, which may affect life.

According to the Meteorological Department, red and orange alerts have also been issued in states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Rain activities are expected to continue for the next few days in Delhi and NCR, although there is a possibility of light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to take precautions during the rains and pay attention to the local weather update.
