The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new weather bulletin for May 30, 2026, according to which today there is a strong possibility of severe thunderstorm, lightning and hailstorm in more than 20 states of the country.
During this period, the wind speed in some states can become so severe that cyclonic winds of 60-70 kilometers per hour can suddenly take the form of severe thunderstorms of 80 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has also issued orange and yellow alerts of heavy rain in 7 states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Speed of 80 km/h: At isolated places in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Odisha, Punjab and Rajasthan, a storm with a speed of 60-70 km per hour can suddenly increase to a speed of 80 km/hour. There is also a strong possibility of dust storm in many parts of Rajasthan.

Speed of 60 km/h: An alert of storm with speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour has been issued today in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha.

Lightning and gusty winds with speed of 40-50 km/hr are expected at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and Uttarakhand.
