Post

New job, new salary, new passion … There is a very important task in the midst of all this, which most of us either forget or avoid it as difficult. That is the work – to transfer the money of the provident fund (PF) of the old company to your new PF account.

Many people think, “Money is in the account, lets it be lying.” But this is a big mistake. PF’s money is scattered in different accounts, you have many big disadvantages, such as:

  • You do not get the full benefit of ‘interest on interest’ on it.
  • The total service period of your job is not able to join together, which can cause problems in pension like facilities.
  • While withdrawing money, you have to claim from different accounts, which is a mess.

But now you don’t have to panic. Now PF transfer is not a difficult task like circling offices. You can do this work at home, in just 5-10 minutes with your mobile or laptop.

Let us know its easiest, step-by-step method:

Before transfer, keep these 3 things ready:

  1. Your UAN (Universal Account Number) should be activated.
  2. Your UAN should have your bank account, Aadhaar card and PAN card link (KYC).
  3. You should have a mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card, because OTP will come on it.

Online way to transfer pf:

  1. Go to EPFO portal: First of all go to EPFO’s ‘Member E-Swea’ portal and log in by entering your UAN number, password and captcha code.
  2. Click ‘Online Services’: After logging in, click on ‘Online Services’ from the menu appearing above and then from the drop-down ‘One Member – One EPF Account (Transfer Request) Select the option.
  3. Check your information: Now a new page will open, on which your personal information and details of the existing PF account will appear. Check them well.
  4. Enter old company details: Now you have to choose the PF account of the old company whose money you want to transfer. You put your old Member ID or UAN and click on ‘Get Details’. Information about your old account will come on the screen.
  5. Verify the request: Now to prove this transfer request, you have to choose one of your existing (new company) or old company employees. Bet that you ‘Present Employer’ (Select the existing employer).
  6. Confirm OTP: Finally, click on the ‘Get OTP’ button. An OTP will come on the mobile number related to your Aadhaar. Put that OTP and ‘Submit’.

Just, your work is done! Your transfer request has been submitted. Now your new employer will approve it online and then in a few days EPFO will transfer all your old money to your new PF account.
