Good news for the people of Delhi-Gurgaon! The journey of one and a half hour will now be completed in just 20 minutes, a new expressway is being built.

If you are also troubled by the terrible traffic jams between Delhi and Gurugram every day, then there is a very good news for you. The central government is working on a scheme that is going to change your life forever. Preparations have started to build a new expressway from Delhi’s AIIMS (AIIMS) to Gurugram via Mahipalpur.

Work on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this project has also started, after which it will be decided where this expressway will be built under the ground (underground) and where above (elevated). After the construction of this expressway, the journey which currently takes one and a half to two hours, will be reduced to just 20 to 25 minutes.

What is this whole project?

• Length: This expressway will be approximately 35 kilometers long and completely signal-free.
• Cost: It is estimated that around Rs 5,000 crore will be spent on this.
• Lane: This expressway will be of 6 lanes, which will include both underground and elevated portions.
• Route: It will start from AIIMS in Delhi and go to Mahipalpur via INA, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj and from there will connect to Gurugram-Faridabad Road near Ghata village in Gurugram.

How will you save time?

Currently, during peak hours it takes at least one and a half hour to reach Gurugram’s Sirhaul border from AIIMS. But with the construction of this new expressway, you will be able to cover this distance in just 20-25 minutes. This expressway will be directly connected to Gurugram-Faridabad road, which will provide huge relief from the notorious traffic jam between Mahipalpur and Sirhaul border on Delhi-Gurugram Expressway.

This expressway will not just be a road, but will create a network of connectivity.

• It will further connect to the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), Golf Course Extension Road and Gurugram-Sohna Highway.
• Not only this, it will also connect you directly to Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
• This means that now people going to Faridabad, Palwal, Jaipur, Dausa or Mumbai will not have to get stuck in the traffic jam of Gurugram. They will be able to use this new route directly from Mahipalpur.
