UNESCO Memory of the World India: The Natya Shastra of Srimad Bhagavadgita and Bharat Muni has been included in the Memory of the World Register of UNESCO. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has announced this. He said that this is a historical moment for the legacy of Indian culture. Underlining its importance, Shekhawat said that these timeless works of art are more than just literary treasures. He is a philosopher and aesthetic basis who has shaped the world -dynasty of India and the way we think, experience, live and express themselves. Along with this, 14 entries of our country have now joined the UNESCO register.
Ramcharitmanas will be included in 2024
In 2024, three Indian literary works, Ramcharitmanas, Panchatantra and Sahitya-Loka were included in the ‘Smriti (MOWCAP) of the World Committee for Asia and Pacific’ ‘. This is the first time that three Indian artifacts have been included at the same time. UNESCO’s World Smriti Register, launched in 1992, is an international initiative launched by UNESCO in 1992. Its goal is to identify, preserve and provide the world’s important documentary heritage. It is an international registry including historical documents of historical, cultural or social importance around the world, manuscripts, rare books, photographs, movies, audio recording, etc. This register includes the names of many countries.
