2. Sleep only after dusting the bed
Many of us have this habit of going to the room and lying down straight on the bed. According to the scriptures and Garuda Purana, you must dust your bed once with a clean cloth before sleeping. It not only cleans the dust, but it is also believed to remove the negative energy of the day and helps in getting good sleep.
3. Meditation and ‘gratitude’ of the presiding deity
The last thing you should do before sleeping is to remember your Ishtadev (God). Garuda Purana says that we should apologize for whatever mistakes we have committed knowingly or unknowingly during the day. Also, thank God for today. This is also called ‘self-reflection’. By doing this, nightmares do not come and the mind remains calm.
4. Main door security
In olden times, there was a rule that the head of the house used to check the main door carefully before sleeping. This does not just mean avoiding theft, but it is believed that a closed and secure door prevents the energy of the house from going out. So before sleeping, make sure that the house is in order and the main door is closed properly.
