News India Live, Digital Desk: When it comes to the border of our country, any security expert’s ears perk up after hearing the name of ‘Siliguri Corridor’ i.e. ‘Chicken’s Neck’. This is a very narrow road in India that connects the rest of the country to the North-East states. You can think of it like a hug, on which the enemy’s eyes are always fixed.

Nowadays, considering the situation prevailing in our neighboring country Bangladesh, security alert is at its peak. Sensing the dangers of infiltration and smuggling, BSF has now increased the security of this sensitive area manifold.

What is this new ‘smart fencing’?
Often we have seen barbed wires on the borders, but this time the case is different. Now a 12 feet high smart fence has been installed on the India-Bangladesh border, which is almost impossible to tamper with, let alone cross. It is not just an iron mesh, but it is a security system equipped with sensors and hi-tech cameras. If someone tries to cut or jump it, the signal immediately reaches the control room.

Technology will not fail even in darkness and dense fog
It was difficult to install fencing in Parani or surrounding areas where there are rivers or a lot of bushes. But thermal imagers have been used in new technology. This means that even in dense fog, if a person’s shadow is seen moving, the BSF soldiers will immediately come to know.

This step has been taken not only because of the current political tension in Bangladesh but also to prevent any kind of conspiracy from happening in the future. It is important to protect this ‘vein’ of India i.e. Chicken’s Neck so that the connection of our North-East brothers and sisters with the rest of India always remains safe. This wall of BSF assures security to all those who care about the unity of the country.
