Buxar’s dynamic DM, Sahila Heer, swings into action mode during the month of Sawan: She personally visited the temple with her team, and her administrative alertness has become the talk of the entire district.

A wonderful picture has come to light from Buxar district of Bihar, setting an example among administrative activism and the public. Buxar’s flamboyant and bold District Magistrate (DM) Sahila Heer herself has come into the field regarding the security, facilities and law and order of Shiv devotees and Kanwariyas during the holy month of Sawan. Instead of sitting in any office or meeting, she along with her entire administrative team and police officers went straight to the major Shiva temples and Kanwar routes of the city for inspection. Seeing this ground action of the DM, not only has there been a stir in the administrative department, but his working style is being discussed vigorously among the general public and devotees of the entire district.

Even after half of the month of Sawan, a sharp eye is being kept on the temples and routes.

During the holy month of Sawan, huge crowds of devotees gather at all the small and big Shiva temples including the famous Nath Baba temple of Buxar. DM Sahila Heer herself has taken charge to ensure that the Shiva devotees coming after filling water from the banks of Ganga do not face any kind of inconvenience and that the traffic system remains smooth. He took stock of the cleanliness, drinking water, lighting, barricading and security arrangements inside and outside the temple premises. During this, he gave clear instructions to the officials that no negligence of any kind will be tolerated in the safety and convenience of the devotees.

Strict instructions given to officials on the spot, public praised

During the inspection, the DM also interacted with local shopkeepers, temple management committee and common citizens and listened to their problems. He directed the police force to keep a close watch on anti-social elements and ensure adequate security arrangements for women devotees. As a woman IAS officer and district head, the bold step of coming down to the ground and taking stock of the arrangements herself has proved that the Buxar administration is fully prepared to serve the public. This ground tour of DM Sahila Heer is being appreciated a lot on social media and local chaupals.
