News India Live, Digital Desk: On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. On this special day, the Prime Minister called upon all the countrymen to contribute to achieving the target of 2047 to make India a ‘Viksit Bharat’, following the great principles of Gandhiji.
Today (October 2, 2025) In the morning, Prime Minister Modi reached Rajghat in Delhi. He laid a wreath at Mahatma Gandhi’s tomb and bowed to him. Subsequently, he also shared a very emotional message on the social media platform ‘X’. In his message, the Prime Minister said that Gandhi Jayanti reminds us of the extraordinary life of ‘Pyare Bapu’, whose ideals changed the direction of human history. The Prime Minister said, “He (Gandhiji) showed us how courage and simplicity can become the strongest weapon to bring big changes.” He also reiterated that Gandhiji always believed that only the power of service and compassion can make people strong in the true sense.
Prime Minister Modi, while furthering his point, took a pledge that the country would remain firm on the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi, so that the goal of ‘developed India’ can be achieved by 2047. His statement has come at such an important time when India is moving towards the completion of 100 years of independence and is committed to realizing the dream of becoming ‘self -reliant’ and ‘developed’ nation.
The Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on 2 October every year, reminds us of Gandhiji’s life dedication for truth, non -violence and social justice. This day is also celebrated as International Non -Violence Day all over the world.
