Free Ai Training for Rural Entrepreneurs: Government’s target providing skills to 10 lakh people

Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that the government will provide free Artificial Intelligence (AI) training to more than 5.5 lakh rural entrepreneurs running across the country. This initiative is part of the Bharat Artificial Intelligence Mission, which aims to make a total of 1 million people skilled in the field of AI across the country. On the 10th anniversary of CSC, the big announcement was made by Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of E-Governance Services India Limited. He said, “We will give priority to provide AI training to 5.5 lakh CSC operators working at the village level. This training will be completely free and its objective is to take rural entrepreneurs to be taken forward in the digital age.” On introducing IRCTC services, Zorwanav also encouraged rural entrepreneurs to start IRCTC services in their public services centers. He said that this step will make railway ticket booking easier in rural areas and it will become a new source of income for VLE. In addition, he assured the state’s IT agencies to discuss with the Chief Ministers to integrate with CSC-SPV. CSC Administrators demanded Aadhaar services demanding the CSC operators on the occasion. He said that rural entrepreneurs want the state-based service centers to be merged with public service centers and they should get allotment of Aadhaar related works. This will increase their income and will make Aadhaar services more accessible in rural areas. Ashwini Vaishnav asked CSC SPV to prepare a detailed report on the possibilities of merger of state-based service centers. He assured rural entrepreneurs that the issue would be discussed with the state governments. Why is this initiative important? This initiative is an important step towards empowering rural India digitally. Through AI training, rural entrepreneurs will be able to use new techniques, which will improve the quality of their services and open new income opportunities. In addition, integration of IRCTC and Aadhaar services will increase the access to digital services in rural areas.
