Banke Bihari Temple: The Central Government has given FCRA license to the famous Banke Bihari Temple of Vrindavan. This means that now foreign devotees can donate freely to the temple. The management committee constituted by the court had applied for this license to run the temple. After the approval of the court, the process of this application has been completed.
According to the petition by the court-appointed management committee, the temple has considerable foreign currency in its treasury and intends to receive donations from foreign countries in future also.

The temple required registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 to utilize these foreign donations and receive further foreign donations. Under FCRA, 2010, it was made mandatory for NGOs and groups to obtain a license to receive any type of funding from abroad.
