News India Live, Digital Desk: Imagine, you are stuck at some place where neither your phone has network, nor is your SIM card working, nor is there any balance. It seems almost impossible to ask someone for help in such an emergency. But now technology has found a solution to this also, a technology which can send your voice to others even without network and SIM.

The name of this new and wonderful technology is- ‘Beacon Link’This is a feature that can turn your smartphone into a walkie-talkie like device, with the help of which you can contact people around you in case of emergency.

After all, how does this ‘beacon link’ work?

This technology does not depend on mobile towers or internet. rather this Bluetooth And Wi-Fi Direct Uses such techniques.

  • When you activate this feature, your phone sends a signal (beacon) to all nearby phones that have this feature turned on.
  • It connects nearby phones to form a small, temporary network (called a mesh network).
  • Through this network, you can send text messages or make short-distance voice calls, just like a walkie-talkie.

In simple words, your phone talks directly to other phones, it does not need any tower.

What are its limitations?

This technology is really amazing, but it also has some limitations:

  • distance: It only works over short distances. Your phone will only be able to connect to another phone that is within Bluetooth or Wi-Fi range (usually a few hundred meters).
  • Availability: You will get its benefit only if the phones of other people around you also have this feature and it is activated. If you are alone in a secluded place, this won’t work.

Which phones will have this facility?

Right now this technology is very new and is not available in every phone. It is expected that in the coming time, all the big companies like Samsung, OnePlus, Google and Xiaomi will include this emergency feature in their smartphones. It is being specially designed for those situations where all the communication towers are closed during natural disasters (like flood, earthquake).

This technology is a great example of how technology can become an important means of saving our lives in difficult times. It teaches us that sometimes it is more important to connect with the people around us, rather than looking up to the sky for help.
