News India Live, Digital Desk: A major encounter took place late Saturday night in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh between the police and miscreants who were preparing for cow slaughter. In this firing that took place in a deserted area of Piparpur police station area, the police retaliated and injured two miscreants by shooting them in the legs, after which they were arrested. During this operation, a bullet fired by the miscreants hit the bulletproof jacket of the police constable, narrowly saving his life.
On the information of informer, police laid siege
On the instructions of Superintendent of Police (SP) Anoop Kumar Singh, the police has achieved a major success under the campaign being run against crime and criminals in the district. According to the information, the joint team of Piparpur police station and SOG received accurate information from the informer on Saturday night that some miscreants are planning to carry out some major incident in a deserted garden near Manbhavana village and are preparing for cow slaughter.
Acting on this information, the police team under the leadership of Area Officer (CO) Gaurav Singh immediately reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
Seeing themselves surrounded the miscreants opened fire
When the police challenged the miscreants to surrender, they found themselves surrounded and started firing directly at the police team. During this time, a bullet hit constable Avnish Kumar’s bulletproof jacket, due to which he escaped safely.
In retaliation, both the miscreants were shot in the leg
After the firing by the miscreants, the police also retaliated in self-defense. In this action of the police, both the miscreants were shot in their legs and they got injured and fell there. After this the police caught him from the spot.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Ramzan and Irfan, who are residents of nearby Ahina village. Police recovered two illegal pistols, some live and spent cartridges, and tools used for cow slaughter (like rope, sharp weapons) from the spot.
The injured miscreants have been admitted to the nearby community health center for treatment. Police have registered a case against both of them and have started further legal action.
