But now the Yogi government is preparing to change this entire system. Soon such a system is going to be implemented in the state, which will not only curb corruption, but will also provide great relief to the general public.

Whether it is to take a new connection, to improve the bill, to change the meter or make any complaint, every work will be online through this unique number.

How will this new system work?

Under this new system, the Electricity Department will set up a centralized (centralized) customer care center. Whenever a consumer calls with his problem, every conversation will be recorded. This will ensure that no employee or officer can mislead the consumer or ask for a bribe from it.

• Every work online: You will not have to go to the power office. Through the unique service number, you will be able to give your application from home.
• Transparency and accountability: Which officer is your application and what action was taken on it, you will be able to track all this online. For every officer, a time limit to settle the work will be decided.
• Every thing will be recorded: There will be recording of every conversation on customer care, which will stop the arbitrariness of the employees and they will be bound to talk to consumers properly.
• Injury to corruption: When all the work is on online and record, it will be almost impossible to transact money in the name of correcting the bill or giving a new connection.

Why was this system needed now?

Till now electricity consumers had many different numbers like account number and connection numbers, which caused a lot of confusion. Even for small works, people had to go round the offices. Taking advantage of this, some corrupt employees and officials used to charge a hefty amount in the name of reducing the bill or giving a quick connection. The new system will eliminate all these troubles.

The chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation has issued instructions to implement this new system. It is expected that after this system is fully implemented, millions of electricity consumers of the state will get great relief and transparency will come in the work of the department.
