In the series of ongoing development works across the country, now a big good news has emerged for Palwal and Nuh districts of Haryana. Under the ‘Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor’ (HORC) project, the work of laying a new double rail line between Prithla in Palwal to Dhulavat in Nuh district has been given the green signal. Prithla will become a big junction, there will be direct connectivity with DFC
Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor is being constructed starting from Palwal in Faridabad division till Sonipat. According to the master plan of this project, Prithla station of Palwal will emerge as an important hub. Here the ‘Dedicated Freight Corridor’ (DFC) and the existing network of Indian Railways will be linked together, developing this place as a junction of two major rail routes. This connectivity will directly benefit the industrial areas and there will be a tremendous increase in the speed and capacity of goods trains.
126 km long corridor on the land of 67 villages
This rail corridor will be more than 126 kilometers long, for which development work is being done by acquiring 665 hectares of land from about 67 villages. According to officials, till now about 30 percent work of this mega project has been successfully completed. Along with laying the railway line, construction of Railway Overbridge (ROB) is also going on at a fast pace. The special thing about this corridor is that not only the tracks are being laid, but along with modern railway stations, special bridges and strong retaining walls are also being constructed for drainage.
5 km long tunnel between Aravali hills
This project is very challenging and modern from engineering point of view. A huge 5 kilometer long tunnel is being constructed to pass the train through the high hills of Aravali in Nuh district. According to the corporation’s report, about 20 percent of the tunnel work has been completed and it is targeted to be completely ready within the next three years. The world’s most modern machines are being used for the construction of this tunnel so that the work can be completed with unmatched efficiency within the stipulated time limit.
