The Kedar temple situated in the amazing hills of Garhwal Himalayas in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand is ready to reopen for devotees. According to the information received, this temple, situated at an altitude of 11,968 feet above sea level, will open from May 2, 2025. This temple is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. This temple is a part of the Chardham Yatra. Every year millions of devotees come to visit Kedarnath. This temple is open only six to seven months in a year.
The temple is usually open till April-May-October-November. Kedarnath Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has brought a package for you. You can travel by air to Kedarnath.
Booking services
This will be done by IRCTC package air route. Its booking service starts from 8 April 2025. For this, you can visit IRCTC’s official Haley Travel Website (heliyatra.irctc.co.in). This service of IRCTC will be available for the journey between May 2 to May 31.
Flight fare
This year helicopter fares have increased by 5%. According to official information, the fare for each passenger will be as follows.
The fare from Sirsi to Kedarnath will be Rs 6,061 (both sides), while the fare from Phata to Kedarnath will be Rs 6,063 and the fare from Guptkashi to Kedarnath will be Rs 8,533.
Flight time
According to official information, the first flight to Kedarnath will leave Fata at 6:50 am and reach Kedarnath at 7 am the next morning. The last flight of return departs from Kedanath at 12:40 pm and the distance up to Fata is fixed by helicopter in 10 minutes. There is a possibility of change in weather.

For the Kedarnath Yatra, it is important to take care of some important things before booking a helicopter. If the registration process for the journey is completed then booking will be possible. For this, with the help of Aadhaar card, you can book from the official website registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.
Booking process
- First of all visit the website heliyatra.irctc.co.in.
- Log in from your IRCTC account.
- After this, tell your travel registration number.
- Then select the date, helipad, time and company.
- After this, an OTP will come on your mobile. Verify through it.
- Then complete the booking by paying.
- Then check the completion of your ticket and download it. Apart from this, take a print out of it.
