Union Home Minister Amit Shah has held several high-level meetings one after the other on this matter and has given very strict and clear instructions to the investigating agencies. He has asked the officials to “find out the culprits of this attack even from underground” and bring them to justice.
Who attended Shah’s high-level meeting?
Home Minister Amit Shah first held a meeting with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Director of IB (Intelligence Bureau) on this serious matter. After this, he called another big meeting, in which the DG of NIA (National Investigation Agency), Delhi Police Commissioner and all the senior officials of the Home Ministry participated.
In these meetings, Delhi’s security arrangements were thoroughly reviewed and emphasis was laid on making a strong strategy to prevent such incidents in future.
Investigation handed over to NIA, these instructions were given
Delhi Police has registered an FIR after preliminary investigation of this matter. But considering the seriousness of the matter, now the investigation of this entire incident has been handed over to NIA. The NIA team has reached the spot and started its investigation.
According to sources, Home Minister Amit Shah has given clear instructions to NIA:
- Who is behind this attack should be found out as soon as possible.
- Every person involved in this conspiracy should be arrested, no matter where in the country he is hiding.
- A concrete plan should be made to root out such attacks.
Security arrangements will be reviewed afresh
This incident has once again raised big questions on the security of Delhi. The Home Minister has instructed Delhi Police to take a fresh review of the security arrangements of the capital. Especially, it has been asked to tighten the security at Red Fort, India Gate and other crowded and important places.
