Demand for Sanatan Board: In Mahakumbh, Sanatan Board is being demanded for Hindus. On 27 November, a huge Dharm Sabha of saints was organized in Prayagraj. It sought to form Sanatan Board for Hindus and cancel the place of worship Act. Apart from this, the Sanatan Board also demanded to free the temples from the government’s possession.

Why not CII and Ficci for industries and Sanatan Board for Hindus?

What kind of Sanatan Board is being demanded?

Who will join?

  • The Central Sanatan Board will be formed to protect the four Shankaracharyas of the country. It will have 11 members.
  • Out of these 11 members, 4 members will be four presiding Jagadguru. 3 members will be the president of Sanatani Akhara. A patron will be nominated by the board. 3 members will be the presiding saint/narrator or Dharmacharya.
  • Apart from this, Sanatan will be a partner of the board, which will have 11 members. It will have representatives of 2 largest Hindu organizations, main narrators, prominent persons associated with temple and gaushala.
  • Apart from this, there will be an advisory institution of Sanatan Board. This will include retired judges, retired IAS, media veteran, academics, social workers.

What will the Sanatan Board work?

  1. Sanatan Board will manage the property of temples.
  2. A hospital will be managed by each major temple.
  3. Economically weaker Hindu families will help prevent conversion caused by lack of money.
  4. Financial assistance will be provided to small temples.
  5. The Sanatan Board will appoint priests. In which the criteria of traditional qualifications and religious knowledge will be followed.
  6. If a person encroachs illegally on the property of a temple, then the District Magistrate will have the right to order immediate removal.
  7. The right to enter the temples will decide eternal and Prasad management will also be under the supervision of the board. So there will be no such disturbance about Prasad, the same will not happen again in Tirupati Balaji temple.
  8. The Sanatan Board will try to free the forced land acquired by the Waqf Board and end unconstitutional rights.
  9. The Sanatan Board will take legal action to punish the anti -Sanatan film/statements/comedy.
  10. Only Hindus will be allowed to work in the temple premises.

Why is there a Waqf Board in India?

Appeal to the Prime Minister

Jagadguru Vidya Bhaskar Maharaj urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to abolish the place of worship Act and said, ‘This law was implemented without consultation to protect mosques built by breaking Hindu temples. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should use his majority in Parliament to cancel the place of worship act. The government of that time enacted a law without any discussion and imposed it on the whole country.

Many saints and religious leaders including Chinmayanand Bapu, Mahamandaleshwar Ashutosh Nand Maharaj, Raghavacharya Maharaj, Jain Sant Vivek Muni Maharaj, Mahant Raju Das of Hanuman Garhi and Vallabhacharya Maharaj from Ayodhya participated in the Sanatan Dharma Parliament. All of them expressed their support for the establishment of Sanatan Board.
