The capital city of Delhi One project after another is being launched to make the city jam-free. After the opening of the Dwarka Expressway this year, travelling to Gurugram has become much easier and the distance that used to take an hour earlier, can now be covered in 20 minutes. Taking this forward, the Delhi government is going to launch another project, which will benefit people travelling from Delhi to Faridabad-Gurugram route and the jam on the Delhi border will also end.

Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has also issued orders to the DM of South-West District for land acquisition and the target is to complete this route by the end of the year. This 8.8 km long expressway will be made 6 lanes so that the movement of vehicles can be faster. At present, this is a 2 lane road, on which there is a jam for hours every day.

From where to where will the expressway be built?

This expressway to be built on Delhi's Najafgarh Road will start from Gwal Pahari village and go till Andheri Mor. This 6 lane expressway being built on the Gurugram-Faridabad route will make transportation easier. Currently, this route is a 2 lane route, whose width is 7.5 to 10 meters. This is the reason why there is a traffic jam on this route for hours every day, especially towards Delhi.

2 lakh drivers will get benefit

With the construction of this 9 km long expressway, about 2 lakh drivers will benefit every day. Currently, about 1 lakh vehicles enter Delhi every day from Gwal Pahari-Andheria Mod Road and about the same number of people go towards Gurugram. Due to such heavy traffic, there is a long jam on the Delhi border every day. With the construction of the new expressway, the time of these 2 lakh drivers will be saved.

What will the new expressway be like?

The new expressway will be about 30 meters wide and will have 6 lanes. There will be 3 lanes on each side and its total length will be about 8.8 kilometers. 25 acres of land will be acquired for the expressway, for which a fund of Rs 50 crore has been released to the Public Works Department (PWD) of Delhi from the Urban Development Fund.
