Delhi IVF Scam: ‘Where are our biological children?’ Big negligence of Delhi’s IVF center; DNA test failed after giving birth, FIR registered on the orders of Saket court

“Where are our real children? Who are the parents of these two innocent girls?” This is the heart-wrenching question for which an aggrieved couple from Gurugram has been searching for the answer for the last five months while wandering in the corridors of justice. In a very serious case that has shocked the medical world, a couple who became parents through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) technique claim that the twin girls born to them are not biologically their children.

India Today (India TodayAccording to the investigative report of ) journalist Anshul Singh, the victim’s father Rahul Rathore and his wife Meenu Rathore have made very sensational and serious allegations against a renowned IVF center in Delhi of embryo swapping, manipulating medical data, offering crores of rupees to suppress the case and giving death threats if they do not compromise later. This entire high-profile case has raised big question marks on the security and privacy of the country’s Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) sector.

This is how the dreadful secret of ‘medical blunder’ got revealed amidst happiness.

This whole incident started in December 2024, when Rahul and Meenu Rathore bought a house in Greater Kailash, a posh area of Delhi. SCI IVF Hospital I started my fertility treatment. The couple says that as per the medical protocol, they were given written and verbal assurance by the doctors that only Rahul’s sperm and Meenu’s eggs would be used in the entire IVF process.

The treatment was successful and 5 January 2026 Meenu gave birth to two very beautiful twin girls in a reputed private hospital in Dwarka, Delhi. After a long wait and painful treatment, the girls’ screams echoed in the house and the entire family went into celebration. But this happiness could not last long.

  • Questions raised on appearance: When the girls grew up, the family members and relatives noticed that the appearance or physical structure of the two girls did not resemble their parents or any of the family members even in the slightest.

  • DNA test shocked the senses: To remove the doubts arising in their minds, the couple 8 January 2026 Handed over blood samples for DNA test to two different reputed private labs of the country. When the official DNA reports of both the labs came out on 10 and 14 January 2026, the ground slipped under the feet. The report clearly proved that the DNA of the girls was neither matching with their mother (Meenu) nor with their father (Rahul). That means scientifically those girls were not the real children of that couple.

Offers worth crores and threats: FIR registered on the orders of the court

When Rahul and Meenu contacted the management of SCI IVF Hospital located in Greater Kailash after getting solid evidence of DNA report, instead of accepting their mistake, the hospital started putting mental pressure on the victim’s parents. The couple alleges that when they sought a written clarification from the hospital, they were offered compensation worth crores of rupees in exchange for keeping quiet to prevent the matter from going to the media and court. When he rejected this unethical agreement, he was subjected to serious administrative and personal threats.

Police bowed to court order: The victim couple had given a written complaint to Delhi Police on January 17, 2026, but no immediate action was taken against the influential hospital. After this she approached the Union Health Ministry, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and National Commission for Women (NCW). The couple finally approached the court in March 2026. On March 23, the Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Delhi expressed the need for investigation in the case under serious sections like child trafficking and child kidnapping.

After this, on March 30, 2026, Saket Court of Delhi directed the police to immediately register an FIR and start a strict investigation. However, SCI IVF Hospital challenged this decision in the Saket court itself, but on June 5, 2026, the court rejected the review petition of the hospital outright. Making a strong comment, the court said that prima facie serious irregularities have been found in the internal medical records of the hospital, hence a detailed investigation by the police is extremely necessary. After this, a criminal case was registered at Greater Kailash police station in Delhi under serious sections of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) Act, 2021 and fraud.

‘We love these girls too, but where are our own children?’

The biggest and sensitive human aspect at the center of this entire matter is that Meenu Rathore has given birth to these girls from her womb. Meenu says getting emotional, “We have been completely emotionally attached to both the girls since their nine months of pregnancy and birth and are raising them like our own daughters. Our intention is not to intentionally trap anyone, but being a mother, my heart is yearning to know in which corner of the world and in what condition my own biological child is at present.”

Director of Center of IVF and Human Reproduction of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on this subject Dr. Abha Majumdar Giving technical clarification, he said that, “According to the rules of medical science, if 100% sperm and eggs of the original parents have been used in the IVF process, then the DNA of the embryo prepared in the laboratory will definitely match that of the biological parents. There is no question of mismatch in this.”

Victim couple demands forensic and cyber audit

Dissatisfied with the slow pace of police investigation, Rahul and Meenu Rathore have released a video on social media and appealed to the people of the country for justice. He has placed the following 5 major demands before the investigating agencies:

  1. Seizure of CCTV footage: All CCTV footage of the labs and wards of the IVF Center between December 2024 and January 2025 should be sealed immediately.

  2. Cyber Forensic Audit of Server: The digital data of the hospital’s electronic database, embryo log book and servers should be thoroughly examined by cyber experts to find out which patient’s embryo was used on which date and where the manipulation was done.

  3. Linking patients: Other possible families who will undergo treatment at that center during the year 2025 and give birth to children around January 2026 should be identified, because it is quite possible that some other family may have the biological child of Rahul and Meenu and they may have the child of that family.

When India Today’s reporter tried to get his side from the top management of the concerned SCI IVF Hospital in Greater Kailash on this entire matter, he flatly refused to say or comment anything on camera.
