Haryana Election and Congress Samajwadi Party News: Samajwadi Party (SP), which performed well with Congress in the Lok Sabha elections, has claimed three to five seats in the Haryana Assembly elections. These seats are located in South Haryana and are dominated by Yadavs and Muslims. While claiming these seats, talks have also been held with SP President Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal.
There was no discussion on giving one seat to SP
Congress has demanded some seats in the by-elections to be held on about a dozen assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, in such a situation Akhilesh Yadav has also staked claim on these seats in Haryana. The central leadership of Congress has not yet taken any decision on Akhilesh's demand, but former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that 'Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party both are part of Bharat Alliance with Congress at the central level. But there is no such alliance at the state level in Haryana. In such a situation, Congress will neither make any alliance with Aam Aadmi Party nor will give any seat to Samajwadi Party in the state.'
'Alliance with SP at central level'
Hooda made it clear that the Congress is capable of fighting the assembly elections in Haryana on its own. Rejecting all claims of an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Hooda said, “We also have an alliance with the Samajwadi Party, but this is not a state-based alliance but a central-level alliance. We have an alliance with many other parties at the national level, but no such discussion has taken place at the state level till date.”
