Mumbai, May 31 (HS). In the Dombivali MIDC Amudan Chemical Company explosion case, Kalyan Session Court on Friday sent both the accused Malay Mehta and Sneha Mehta to judicial custody. The bail plea of accused Sneha Mehta will be heard on Saturday.
According to the information, 12 people died due to sudden reactor explosion in Amudan Company in Dombivali MIDC on 23 May. More than 65 people were injured in this incident. In this case, the police arrested Malay Mehta and his wife Sneha Mehta. The police produced both of them in the court and took them on remand. The period of this remand was ending today. On Friday, when the police custody ended, the Manpada police team produced them in the court. Today in the court, the police asked for two more days of custody but the defense said that now there is nothing left for investigation. The accused will be available whenever the need is felt. After this, Kalyan Session Court Judge SS Raul has ordered to send both the accused Malay Mehta and Sneha Mehta to jail in judicial custody for 14 days.
After the order of judicial custody, accused Sneha Mehta has filed a petition for bail. In this petition, Sneha Mehta has said that she has a two-year-old son and another eight-year-old son. On this ground, Sneha Mehta has requested the court to grant bail. Sneha's bail plea will now be heard in Kalyan Court on Saturday.
