The Meteorological Department has advised the people of Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro and Khunti districts to be extremely cautious till Sunday.
Why has the cold increased so much?
Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Abhishek Anand said that this cold has increased due to the icy winds coming from the north-west. These winds are blowing throughout Jharkhand, due to which the temperature is continuously falling. He has warned that the cold may trouble even more in the next 48 hours i.e. two days, because the minimum temperature may drop by another 2 degrees. However, after that the temperature will rise slightly and slight relief from cold is expected.

According to the weather report released on Saturday, the cold havoc in different cities of Jharkhand was like this:
- Gumla: 3.0°C (coldest in the state)
- Peg: 5.4°C
- Daltonganj: 6.1°C
- Bokaro: 8.2°C
- Ranchi (capital): 10.1°C
- Jamshedpur: 9.4°C
- Deoghar: 9.6°C
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to protect themselves from the cold, especially the next two days are very important. Wear warm clothes and avoid leaving the house without essential work.
