Cold wave and fog wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh, no relief from severe cold

The effect of snowfall on the mountains in Uttar Pradesh is clearly visible. The melting winds have increased the chill in the entire state, due to which a cold wave alert has been issued in many districts. Along with this, normal life is being affected due to dense fog in the state.

Cold wave and fog outbreak

Cold wave is affecting many districts of Uttar Pradesh with severe cold. People are trying to keep themselves warm by taking the help of bonfire. Meanwhile, it has been advised to take special care of children and the elderly.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), cold will continue to wreak havoc in UP and at present there is no hope of any relief.

Lowest temperature in Ayodhya

• The minimum temperature recorded in Ayodhya is 2.5 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature in the state.
• Cold wave continues in Lucknow also. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius.

Cold wave attack in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert in many districts of UP. These districts are:

• Cucumber
• Bahraich
• Shravasti
• Balrampur
• Siddharthnagar
• Kushinagar
• Maharajganj
• gorakhpur

• Ayodhya
• Jyotibaphule Nagar
• Rampur
• Bareilly
• Sitapur
• barabanki
• Rae Bareli
• Amethi
• Sant Kabir Nagar

The temperature is continuously falling in these districts and cold winds are blowing.

Double attack of cold wave and fog

The Meteorological Department has said that along with cold wave, there will be dense fog in 26 districts of UP.

• Fog will reduce visibility in the morning, which may affect road and rail traffic.
• There is also a possibility of many trains being late.
• Due to melting winds, a drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures has been recorded.

Precautions to protect yourself from cold

• Children and the elderly have been advised to take special precautions.
• Wear warm clothes and take shelter by the bonfire to avoid cold winds.
• Take extra caution when traveling during fog.
