News India Live, Digital Desk: If you live in Jharkhand, you must have realized this morning how difficult it was to leave the quilt. Winter has now started showing its ‘Rudra form’ in the state. In the last 24 hours, the weather has taken such a turn that the entire Jharkhand has come under the grip of dense fog and severe cold.

Forget seeing the Sun God, the fog is so dense that it is not possible to see even 50 meters away on the road. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has also made it clear that do not expect relief now, because the mercury will fall further.

Fog stops speed: everything late!
The dense fog has had the worst impact on traffic.

  • Air Travel: The condition of flights at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi is bad. Due to low visibility, many flights are flying behind schedule, and landing planes are circling in the sky. Passengers are sitting at the airport waiting for the weather to clear.
  • Trains at Kachua Chaal: Trains coming from Delhi and North India are running late by hours. Be it Rajdhani Express or Garib Rath, fog has put brakes on everyone’s speed. Passengers are shivering and waiting for their train on the platform.
  • Buses crawling on the road: If you are traveling by bus, then assume that it will take double the time to reach your destination. Vehicles are moving on the highway with headlights on during the day.

‘Kankani’ cold and cold wave
Now ‘Kankani’ is being felt in many areas of Jharkhand. That means the wind is so cold that it rips through the clothes and hits the body. The temperature has gone down very low in areas like Kanke and McCluskieganj. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of ‘Cold Wave’ for the next few days. There will be fog in the morning and evening and even if there is light sunshine during the day, it will not be hot.

take care of health
Doctors have advised children and the elderly to take special precautions. This season can be dangerous for asthma and heart patients.

  1. It is better to postpone the morning walk for a few days.
  2. Make sure to use ‘fog lights’ while driving on the road.
  3. Drink hot water and go out only after covering your body completely.

The Meteorological Department says that the cold is likely to increase further till December 25 (Christmas). So get out your woolly hats and mufflers, because winter is not going away just yet!
