MP Cold Wave Weather Report: This year in Madhya Pradesh, cold has started showing its strength in the second week of November and records of last several years have been broken in many cities. According to the Meteorological Department, the capital Bhopal is experiencing such severe cold after 10 years, while in Indore the cold has broken the 25 year old record.
‘Cold-day’ like conditions have been prevailing in Anuppur and Balaghat for the last two days, that is, there is extreme cold both during the day and night. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for the next three to four days in 18 districts of the state. Especially in Bhopal, Rajgarh, Indore, Sehore, Dewas, Shajapur and Shivpuri, people have been advised to take special precautions.
Rajgarh becomes the coldest city of the state
At present, the maximum chill in the state is being felt in Rajgarh, where the night temperature has dropped to 7.4 degrees Celsius. Talking about other big cities, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.9 degrees in Jabalpur, 11.4 degrees in Gwalior and 10.7 degrees Celsius in Ujjain. At the same time, in Umaria, Chhatarpur’s Naugaon, Rewa and Shivpuri, the mercury remains between 8 to 9 degrees.
Chilliness increased due to falling mercury in other districts too
Cold wave continues in other parts of the state also. The temperature was recorded at 9.8 degrees in Malajkhand of Balaghat, 10.1 degrees in Mandla, 10.2 degrees in Betul and Chhindwara, while 10.9 degrees Celsius was recorded in Datia. In most areas of the state, severe cold is being felt during night and morning, due to which common people are facing shivering. The Meteorological Department has predicted the temperature to drop further in the coming days.
