On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called a high -level meeting in Lucknow over a stampede at around 1 pm in Mahakumbh. The meeting is going on continuously from four o’clock in the morning, in which the Chief Secretary, DGP and senior officials of the Government of Uttar Pradesh are present. The Chief Minister is constantly monitoring the situation of Prayagraj Mahakumbh and taking information about relief and rescue operations from the officials.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called four times and took updates from the Chief Minister after the accident and ongoing relief work. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and Governor Anandiben Patel also discussed the phone and assured the Chief Minister of necessary cooperation.

CM Yogi’s appeal to devotees

CM Yogi informed that at this time 8 to 10 crore devotees are present in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Yesterday, about five and a half crore devotees took a bath yesterday. The pressure increased due to excessive crowd on Sangam Noj, but the administration is ready on the spot.

Some devotees tried to cross the barricading between about one to two o’clock in the night on the Akhara route, where the barricades of the Akharas were barricaded. During this time some people were seriously injured, who were immediately rushed to the hospital and arranged for treatment.
