Monsoon havoc is once again seen on the mountains. Late night cloudburst in a village near Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, caused heavy havoc. The incident is from Sarkhet village of Raipur block, where sudden floods and debris destroyed everything after a cloudburst at around 2.15 pm.

Sky disaster in the dark of night

The people of the village were sleeping in deep sleep, when suddenly the river water entered the village with a sound of thunder. On seeing this, many houses, farm-barn and vehicles were buried in the rubble or flowed into the strong currents of water. Many people are reported missing in this disaster, and some are feared to be buried in the rubble. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams immediately reached the spot and started the rescue operation as soon as dawn. The trapped people are being safely taken out and the search for the missing people is going on.

Due to this incident, many routes in the area have also been closed. The part of a bridge collapsed near the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple, which has affected traffic. The Meteorological Department had already issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many parts of the state.

The administration teams are engaged in relief and rescue work on the spot, but there are many problems due to continuous rains. This is a difficult time for people living in the mountains, where every sound is feeling an unknown fear.
