News India Live, Digital Desk: Once again the genie of old recruitments has come out of the bottle in Uttar Pradesh. He was the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) during the Samajwadi Party government. Anil Kumar Yadav An FIR has been registered against him on serious charges of corruption and rigging. Anil Yadav was considered very close to the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his tenure was always in controversies over allegations of casteism and corruption in recruitment.

Now Vigilance has registered a case against him for disproportionate assets and corruption, due to which the reopening of old recruitment files is considered certain.

What are the allegations against Anil Yadav?

The allegations against Anil Yadav are very serious. Vigilance investigation has found many evidences against him, on the basis of which this action has been taken:

  • Disproportionate assets: The investigation found that during his tenure as chairman, he made wealth many times more than his income. This property is in the name of him and his family members, for which he could not give any concrete account.
  • Rigging and corruption in recruitment: Anil Yadav’s tenure is considered to be one of the most controversial periods of UPPSC. He is accused of rigging many big recruitments including PCS, giving jobs to ineligible people and showing the way out to eligible candidates.
  • Benefiting a particular caste: He is also accused of heavily favoring candidates of a particular caste in recruitment, due to which serious questions were raised on the results.
  • To benefit the wife: Anil Yadav is also accused of unfairly benefiting his wife. His wife ran a non-governmental organization (NGO), and it is alleged that she benefited this NGO by misusing the post of chairman.

Who is Anil Kumar Yadav?

Anil Yadav was appointed in the Samajwadi Party government and he was considered very trustworthy of Akhilesh Yadav. Since he became the chairman, almost every recruitment examination of UPPSC has been in controversies, there were demonstrations on the streets and the cases reached the court. He was most in the news for the alleged rigging in the PCS examination 2011, which is now being investigated by the CBI.

The recruitments during Anil Yadav’s tenure were being investigated ever since the BJP government came to power. Now after this Vigilance FIR, their troubles are certain to increase. This action has rekindled the hopes of thousands of eligible candidates who were deprived of jobs due to the rigging.
