Children’s basis will now be updated from school, new initiative of UIDAI, emphasis on simplification of biometric data

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is taking steps towards making the process of updating the information related to the Aadhaar of children even easier. In the coming time, UIDAI can provide facility to update children’s biometric data such as fingerprints and i scans in association with schools across the country. The main objective of this initiative is to update the base data of children whose age is around 5 years and 15 years, so that their identity is maintained.

According to the current rules, the basis of children under 5 years of age is called ‘BAAL AADHAAR’, which does not contain biometric information. Children’s biometrics have to be recorded at the age of 5 years, and it has to be updated again at the age of 15. UIDAI wants to make these processes more accessible to children and parents.

According to UIDAI sources, a large number of children can be easily accessible by doing this work through schools. Schools can introduce Aadhaar enrollment and updates in their premises, for which UIDAI will provide them necessary assistance. This will also facilitate the parents, as they will not have to visit the Aadhaar centers separately for this.

Under this scheme, UIDAI is considering providing mobile base kits Mobile Aadhaar Kits or other necessary techniques to schools, so that schools can do this work at their level. This will not only update the Aadhaar data of the children, but the biometric information of India’s population will also always be up -to -date, which is important for various government schemes.
