Chief Minister Housing Scheme-Rural : A big and relief news has come from the state government for the poor and deprived tribal families living in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government announced its ambitious plan ‘Chief Minister Housing Scheme-Rural’ A historic decision has been taken to increase the scope of. Under this new step, now all those Scheduled Tribes have also been added to the eligibility list of this scheme, who till now were forced to live in kutcha houses or dilapidated huts due to severe housing crisis and lack of basic facilities.

While giving information about this decision, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya made it clear that our government is fully committed to bringing the light of development to every person standing at the last rung of the society. This new decision of the government is a big and serious initiative towards putting this thinking on the ground.

History of the scheme: The journey started from Musahar and Vantangiya

‘Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin’ started this year with the aim of providing roof to homeless families in rural areas. 2018 Was done in. In the initial phase, the focus of the scheme was particularly on those extremely backward, largely deprived and tribal castes, where the highest number of families living in insecure dwellings like kutcha or huts were recorded.

  • Initial phase: In this sequence, extremely backward castes like Vantangiya and Musahar were first included, who are considered to be the weakest link of the tribal population of the state.

  • Expansion phase: After this, the government expanded this scheme and included about 18 other deprived castes like Kol, Tharu, Sahariya, Nat, Chero, Baiga, Boxa, Banjara and Sapera, due to which lakhs of rural families could get free pucca houses.

Inclusion of new castes: Now these tribal families will get benefits

Now the government has decided to include all the Scheduled Tribe families left out of the scope of this welfare scheme into the mainstream. The main groups included in this new list are as follows:

  • Major Scheduled Tribes: Bhotiya, Jaunsari, Raji and Gond castes.

  • Synonymous castes of Gond community: Dhuria, Ojha, Nayak, Pathari and Rajgond.

  • Other priority rural groups: Kharwar, Khairwar, Parhiya, Pankha, Panika, Agariya, Patari, Bhuiyan and Bhuniyaan.

Administrative officials believe that most of the families of these castes are still living in very difficult conditions in remote areas, forests or hilly areas. These families often live under such huts or under thatched roofs, which are extremely vulnerable to poor health and natural disasters (such as strong storms, rain or fire).

Work begins on ground: Preparation for special survey and transparent allocation

According to the new strict orders issued by the state government, now a special survey campaign will be conducted in rural areas for these newly included categories of castes. The main objective of this survey is to collect accurate and authentic data about the current residential status of these families.

On the basis of this survey report, it will be decided which families are the first to be entitled to a permanent house. The officials have assured that the names of all these eligible families will be added to the official list within a given time-frame, so that the process of application and house allotment can be started expeditiously without any delay. The remaining families of other communities already connected will also benefit from this fast process.

There will be a direct impact on the rural economy and standard of living.

The impact of this big decision of Yogi government will not be limited only to providing housing, but it will also give a new energy to the rural economy:

  • Increase in local employment: When construction of free pucca houses starts on a large scale in rural areas, the demand for construction materials (bricks, cement, mortar), masons, survey services and laborers will increase rapidly at the local level. With this, small contractors, artisans and daily wage laborers of villages will get ample employment opportunities near their homes.

  • Improvement in family life: When a poor family gets a safe and solid house instead of a kutcha hut, the risk of diseases in their life reduces to a great extent. In the calm and safe environment of a permanent home, the level of education of children improves and a strong and positive feeling of self-esteem is created in the entire family.

Experts also believe that by including castes scattered in remote areas like Bhotia, Jaunsari, Raji and Gond, the real benefits of this scheme will reach directly to those who need it most. This scheme is not only a means of providing physical housing facilities, but it also gives a very strong social and humanitarian message of connecting the most backward caste groups with the mainstream of society.
