News India Live, Digital Desk: Najeb ahmed Missing Case: Seven years after the disappearance of JNU student Najeeb Ahmed, his mother Fatima Nafis, who wandered in search of justice, has been rekindled on the expectations of Fatima Nafees. A Delhi court has now allowed the CBI to file a closure report in the case of Najeeb’s disappearance, that is, the CBI believes that nothing can be found further in this case and should be closed. This decision is no less than a big shock for Najeeb’s mother, who has been waiting for her son’s return for so many years.

Where did this endless wait?

The matter is on 15 October 2016. Najeeb Ahmed, a student of 27 -year -old M.Sc Biotechnology from Mahi Mandvi Hostel of Delhi’s prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), was mysteriously disappeared. Exactly a night before that, Najeeb had debates and assault in the hostel. It was alleged that this assault was done by the students associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Ever since Najeeb’s disappearance, his mother Fatima Nafees started fighting a single battle. He searched for his son in every corner of the country, knocked on the doors of the courts, demonstrated the dharna, just to know where his son is?

Investigation and questions:

In the initial stages, the Delhi Police investigated the matter, but on 16 May 2017, the Delhi High Court handed over the case to the CBI after no clue was found. The CBI investigated, but that too could not reach any conclusion. He said in the High Court in 2018 that he has not found any clue of Najeeb Ahmed. During the investigation, the CBI also took statements of some ABVP members, who allegedly assaulted Najeeb a night before the incident, and also conducted a polygraph test (Lai-Detector Test), but they too could not give any special information.

When the High Court stopped the closure:

The CBI had earlier also tried to file a closure report in the case, but then the Delhi High Court had ordered the continuation of the investigation on the application of Najeeb’s mother Fatima Nafees. Fatima Nafees always alleged that the CBI was not investigating properly and is trying to save the accused. He claimed that there was a conspiracy behind the disappearance of the son.

Latest decision and mother’s pain:

Now the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sagar Saroh of Delhi’s Saket Court has allowed the CBI to file a closure report in the case. That is, CBI can now legally say that they have no evidence to proceed in this case. This is a disappointing news for all those who wanted to know the truth behind Najeeb’s return or at least his disappearance. Najeeb’s mother Fatima Nafees has said that she will continue a legal battle against the decision and appeal to the upper court.

For a mother who has been waiting for her son for seven years, this decision is probably like a terrible dream come true. Najeeb Ahmed’s case is not just the case of a missing person, but the story of a student whose many questions are unanswered when the disappearance, and whose answer is still going on today.
