Mumbai – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Anti -Corruption Branch in Mumbai has registered a case against its own Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) Bhaskar for taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. Bhaskar is alleged to have sought a bribe to benefit the custom officer in the ongoing investigation against him.
An agency official said that a case has been registered against DSP Bhaskar and three others on the basis of the complaint of RK Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of CBI Anti -Corruption Branch.
In March 2023, a case was given to Bhaskar. The company was being investigated on the basis of the complaint of the CBI inspector.
It was alleged that several customs officers and some customs clearing agents were involved in the crime of cleaning goods without paying the required customs for more than two years.
This is the second case of registering a case against a Mumbai -based DSP in the agency corruption case. On December 30 last year, the CBI Delhi unit registered a case against DSP BM Meena.
A case was registered for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes through middlemen and hawala channels in exchange for profit from a person who came under the purview of agency for bank fraud.
