A big news has come out from Ludhiana, Punjab, where the Delhi-Amritsar National Highway echoed with the sound of bullets. In a fierce encounter between police and terrorists near Ladowal Toll Plaza, two suspected terrorists belonging to banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) were seriously injured.

Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that the police had recently busted a terror module and arrested three people. On the basis of their interrogation, the police got a concrete input that two more terrorists of Babbar Khalsa were planning to carry out some big conspiracy in the same area.

A major attack was to take place on the instructions of Pakistani handler.

According to Commissioner Sharma, as soon as the input was received, the police laid a trap. As soon as both the suspected terrorists reached the spot, the police surrounded them. Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists started firing on the police. In retaliation, one terrorist received three bullets and the other one received one bullet. Both have been admitted to the hospital, where the condition of one remains very serious.

Grenades and pistols made in China recovered

Police recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the scene, including:

  • 2 Chinese hand grenades
  • 5 pistols made in china
  • more than 50 cartridges

Initial investigation has revealed that both these terrorists were working on the instructions of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and a Pakistani handler. Their job was to collect hand grenades and spread terror in Punjab by throwing them at designated places.

Wires were connected to Harvinder Singh Rinda’s module.

Let us tell you that the Counter Intelligence Unit of Punjab Police had busted a big terrorist module of BKI only last month. This module was being run at the behest of terrorist leader Harvinder Singh Rinda, whose links were connected to Britain. At that time the police had also recovered 2.5 kg IED/RDX. Police suspect that this encounter is also part of the same bigger network.

Police have registered the case and now after interrogating the injured terrorists, many more secrets of this network are expected to be revealed.
