Bulldozers returned, but the threat to 22 shops was not averted, the High Court gave the deferment till October 15:

News India Live, Digital Desk: The atmosphere in Giridih in Jharkhand was heated when the municipal team reached 22 shops with bulldozers and heavy police forces. The shopkeepers strongly opposed this action and on seeing this, high voltage drama started on the spot. However, after the order of Jharkhand High Court came on the last occasion, the bulldozer had to return to the barrang, but the danger from these shops is not completely averted.

What is the whole matter?

This case is related to 22 shops built in the old building complex of the Municipal Corporation near Tower Chowk in Giridih. The Municipal Corporation wants to break these shops and break it. For this, the corporation had also issued notice to the shopkeepers. But the shopkeepers are opposing this action by saying that they are snatching their livelihood.

On Sunday, when the Municipal Corporation team reached to take action with full defects, all the shopkeepers adamant in front of the bulldozers and started shouting slogans against the corporation. This commotion continued for about one and a half hours. The shopkeepers said that the corporation is not giving them enough time to vacate the shop.

High court order came on the last occasion

When the atmosphere was completely tense, the lawyers of the shopkeepers reached the spot with the order of the High Court. He informed that the matter is already going on in the High Court and the court has banned any kind of sabotage till October 15. The lawyer made it clear that the court has directed that the shopkeepers should shift their shops to the new place by October 15.

What will happen next?

After seeing the order of the court, the municipal officials had to retreat. Assistant Municipal Commissioner Ashok Hansda informed that new shops have been allotted to the shopkeepers through lottery in Makatpur vegetable market. He said that the corporation will respect the order of the High Court and wait till October 15. But he has also warned that if the shopkeepers themselves did not vacate the shops till the end of the deadline, the corporation will take strict action.

At the moment, the shopkeepers have got relief for a few days, but their difficulties are not over yet. It remains to be seen whether the shopkeepers shift to the new place till October 15 or this deadlock continues even further.
