News India Live, Digital Desk: A big news of relief has come for lakhs of laborers of Jharkhand. Just before the festivals, the state’s Champai Soren government has given a big gift to the workers of the state by increasing their minimum wages. This decision will benefit every section of laborers in the state, whether they work in fields, factories, or shops.
This increase will be considered effective from October 1, 2025. The purpose of this step of the government is to provide some relief to the workers amid rising inflation and improve their standard of living.
Now, how much will be the wage for which work? (Daily Rates)
The government has divided the laborers into different categories according to their work and skills. The new rates are as follows:
- Unskilled Labour:
- update rate: ₹384.81 per day
- Who comes in this: Laborers who do not require any special skills, like farm labourers, MNREGA labourers, beldars, etc.
- Semi-Skilled Labour:
- update rate: ₹403.04 per day
- Who comes in this: Laborers who have some technical knowledge, like kiln workers, cleaners, assistant mechanics, etc.
- Skilled Labour:
- update rate: ₹513.62 per day
- Who comes in this: Laborers who have expertise in their work, like mechanics, drivers, carpenters, electricians, etc.
- Highly Skilled Labour:
- update rate: ₹590.26 per day
- Who comes in this: Those laborers who are experts in their work, like engineers, computer operators, heavy machine operators, etc.
Monthly salary also increased
Along with daily wages, the wages of workers working on monthly wages have also been increased.
- Unskilled: ₹10,005 per month
- Semi-skilled: ₹10,479 per month
- skilled: ₹13,354 per month
- Highly efficient: ₹15,346 per month
This decision of the government will provide economic strength to the workers of both organized and unorganized sectors of the state. Now it will be illegal for any owner or contractor to pay workers less than this.
