Bet on new faces in Ghatshila, 9 out of 13 candidates will contest elections for the first time, 70% faces are completely new.

News India Live, Digital Desk: The by-election on Ghatshila Assembly seat, which has become a hot seat in Jharkhand politics, is going to be very interesting and unexpected this time. The most special thing about this election is that out of the 13 candidates in the fray, there are 9 faces who are trying their luck in the electoral battle for the first time. That is, about 70 percent of the candidates are new players in politics, who have entered the field to compete with experienced leaders.

After completion of nomination process and withdrawal of nominations for Ghatshila by-election, now a total of 13 candidates are left in the fray. Of these, there are only 4 candidates who have experience of contesting elections before. The remaining 9 candidates are going to have their fate decided in the public court for the first time. This figure also points towards the political changes taking place in this seat and the increasing ambitions of the new generation.

Who are the experienced players and who are the new players?

• Experienced Faces: Among the experienced candidates who have contested elections, JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) Ramdas Sorenof BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) Purnima Say Devgamof AJSU Party Dr. Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu And Jharkhand People’s Party Mangal Majhi Are included. All these leaders are considered to be old and experienced players in the politics of this region.
• new faces: At the same time, the 9 new candidates contesting the elections for the first time include many independents and candidates from small parties. Some of these prominent names are- Durga Murmu (independent), Lal Mohan Munda (Indian National Unity Party), Sanjeev Sardar (Jharkhandi Bhasha Khatian Sangharsh Samiti), and Hari Munda (Communist Party of India). All these new faces are in the electoral fray with their own agenda and local issues and have the power to upset the equation of established parties.

Political experts believe that the entry of such a large number of new faces in Ghatshila can make this election triangular or multi-cornered. These new candidates may not win the elections, but the dent they make in the vote bank of whichever party will have a direct impact on the victory-defeat margin. The real contest is believed to be between the ruling JMM and the opposition BJP, but AJSU’s Dr. Pradeep Balmuchu and other independent candidates also have the potential to spoil the game.
