News India Live, Digital Desk: India-Bangladesh: One of our closest neighbors, recently two big news has come out from Bangladesh. One news is going to increase anxiety, the other is strengthening friendship and cooperation. On the one hand, while a Hindu temple in the capital Dhaka was vandalized, on the other hand, both countries are working on a new look to the historic agreement on the water sharing of the Ganges river.
The Government of India has made its stand clear on both these important issues.
First news: Attack on temple in Dhaka
Some miscreants attacked the Radha Govind temple in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This incident is extremely worrying for the Hindu community living there. On this, India has said that we are keeping an eye on this incident.
India’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “Bangladesh is our important neighbor and friend. We are confident that the government there has taken immediate action in this matter and the culprits will not be spared.” India has expressed confidence in the action of the Bangladesh government on this sensitive issue.
Second news: New initiative of friendship on Ganga water
There is also a good news amidst the news of concern. There was a historic agreement between India and Bangladesh on the sharing of Ganga water in 1996, which is ending in 2026. This agreement decides how much India will use the Ganges and how much Bangladesh will get.
Now to carry forward the example of this friendship, a team (technical team) of India’s experts is going to Bangladesh soon. This team will review the old agreement with the officials there and lay the foundation of a new agreement for the future.
Both these events show how deep and multi -level relations between India and Bangladesh are, where challenges are dealt with and new paths of cooperation are also opened.
