News India Live, Digital Desk: To be honest, how many hours a day do we spend in front of the screen? A laptop in the office and a mobile phone at home provide no rest to the poor eyes. By evening the eyes become red, watery start appearing and it seems as if there is sand inside. This is called ‘Eye Strain’.

If you also return home every evening with a headache and heavy eyes, then there is no need to use eye drops for everything. There are some things present in our house which can give new freshness to tired eyes.

1. Cold Water Splash
The easiest and oldest method. Whenever eyes start burning, go to the wash basin and splash cold water. It instantly relaxes the eye muscles. If you want, you can wrap a piece of ice in a clean cloth and apply it gently on your eyes. This reduces swelling and redness.

2. Cucumber is not just for salad (Cucumber Slices)
You must have seen the heroine sitting with cucumber on her eyes in the films, right? That’s not just style, it actually works! Cucumber contains a lot of water and coolness. Cut two round slices and keep them on closed eyes for 10-15 minutes. Believe me, all the fatigue will go away and dark circles will also reduce. If cucumber is not available, raw potato will also work.

3. Palming exercise
There is no need to go anywhere for this. Rub both your palms together until they become warm. Now gently place your warm palms on your closed eyes. The darkness and warmth that you get gives amazing relief to the nerves of the eyes. Do this 3-4 times a day.

4. Magic of Rose Water
Pure rose water works as a natural cleanser. Before sleeping, put two drops of rose water in the eyes or soak cotton in rose water and place it on the eyes. This will make the eye irritation disappear in a jiffy.

A bonus tip:
We often forget to blink. Remember the ’20-20-20′ rule. Every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This keeps the eyes exercised.
